Overview
Southwater is an exciting £250 million development in the heart of Telford, Shropshire, between Telford & Wrekin Council and Southwater Event Group. The development includes shops, restaurants, a cinema, car park, ice rink and commercial properties and is part of a wider redevelopment of the Telford town centre.
A brand new building management system was required in the Southwater Energy Centre to control and monitor the brand new heat generation plant which had a key aim of providing low temperature hot water to a number of the keys developments within the new Southwater development via a district heating network scheme.
The main performance objectives of the BMS was to control and monitor the district scheme plant items to:
- Ensure that they operated safely & reliably
- Ensure that they operated in an energy efficient manner
- Monitor plant performance and highlight and report any plant failure or performance problems
- Monitor utility consumption
